David is the proud father of two amazing boys; Shane and Nathaniel. His oldest son Shane acquired a brain injury when he was nine months old. Out of necessity of accessing services for his son, David has learned about the variety of services and made it his mission to help families with disabilities seek appropriate services. From 2005-2007, David worked as the Coordinator for the Family to Family Health Information Center for Parents Reaching Out. In 2007 he was appointed by the Governor's office to serve as a member of the Human Services Departments Medicaid Advisory Committee. Currently, David works for the Brain Injury Association of New Mexico as the Director of Operations and is attending CNM to pursue his nursing license.

Yolanda is the Information and Referral Specialist at the BIANM. She has 8 years professional experience working with and advocating for individuals with disabilities in the metro and rural areas of New Mexico. For the past 40 years she has supported her family members who have sustained Traumatic and Acquired Brain Injury. Traumatic Brain Injury from a car accident and Acquired Brain Injury from a viral infection.
She hopes to provide you the caller a listening ear, appropriate resources and support through out your journey. She believes brain injury happens to families and she wants to provide tools and resources to achieve positive outcomes for the individual and the family. Resources that will help families support the individual with brain injury; find rest; knowledge and acceptance of brain injury; tools to assist in establishing a routine and information for informed goal setting.
